Remember when you were little, your parents would always say “Watch where you’re going”? That advice is just as relevant today!

No matter what direction you’re going, you need to be able to see clearly! Pictured at the right is one of our latest installs. This customer is taking no chances! We added, with precision and care, a Reverse Camera and Reverse Sensor Kit.

The Camera used is equipped with night vision which is a must as our Sun tends to spend half the day on the other side of the planet. Night vision cameras are a little bit more expensive, but well worth the investment and we suggest you refuse anything without! In this application, we added an “Unlock kit” to the vehicle’s factory equipped NAV system which allows us to use the in-dash display to show the camera image (it also unlocks Video-In-Motion, and NAV-In-Motion features).

Depending on the vehicle, all sorts of options are available. We use different cameras for passenger cars then we do for pick-up trucks or hatch-back vehicles such as mini-vans. We also have a multitude of options for getting the image in front of you. We can add displays to your rear-view mirror, for example.

Don’t be fooled by cheap alternatives! Most inexpensive cameras have high light requirements (LUX numbers) meaning that they don’t work well in the dark. Some say that they are wireless – They aren’t, they still need wiring, they just send the video signal wirelessly so the image is that much worse. A good camera will have a wide angle of view, so watch for those figures too!
